Sunset

Itzel Montalvo

I love the sunset, my remorse dead and buried,
Where the signs pierce the sky,
Sunset will surely arise.

Scared I was, it was hard to see through this torrent,
A challenge to me is to live the moment.

Alone I was, the view is vast,
I try not to see the past.
But your memory always comes back.

Time cannot be reversed,
But the feelings can be preserved.
I will never forget you,
This colorful sight reflects the beauty inside you.

A sunset, despite the limbo we are experiencing, remains the same.
Sunset, sunset, nothing will change you then.

Itzel's pronouns are she/her. She is a Nursing student who relieves her studying anxiety by writing.
