The Crimson Thread
"The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid."
- Jane Austen, "Northanger Abbey"

About The Crimson Thread

The Crimson Thread is an online literary magazine run by the English Undergraduate Student Organization (EUSO) at New Mexico State University. Our publication is operated solely by undergraduate students with little to no input from Faculty. We take pride in being self-sufficient and able to run independently. We accept only undergraduate work ranging from fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. The Crimson Thread issues are selected and curated by the Editor in Chief, a yearly elected officer position held by a full-time undergraduate student in EUSO.
The Crimson Thread publishes two issues per Fall and Spring semester. Our goal is to encourage undergraduates to write and submit their work for publication, offering a friendly first dip into the complexities of the publication world. We are proudly the home of many of our fellow students first venture into online publication.
While small, we strongly believe in doing work behind the screen, offering workshops to help writers further develop their skills. And although not all submissions receive publication, we provide constructive feedback and encouragement for writers to keep submitting.
