Instructions for Separating Salt from Water
Emiliano Iniguez Salgado
Sea water collection as I submerge my head where he swims, still
Filtration of minerals and liquids,
his body was crystallized
flesh in rotting algae, when he rose up
He, sea foam dissolved in the currents.
Boiling muscles when I don't drink and the lake whistles off key, free from guilt
Dry up the leftovers revealed by sun reflections at the bottom of the lake
where I dive to seek a brother
who had no
realization
in the middle of
his leap
Harvest and storage an unmade man in a box
whose face is a strange relic
in childhood memories, but now
a broken skull fossilizing underground
EXTRA STEP:
Rest my buttocks on the seabed, and listen to
how his rippling soul talks
to my oxygen deprived brain.
