The Widower
Poetry
Emiliano Iniguez Salgado

Tainted crimson stars were imprinted in the woods, the seventh day after his death.
He awoke with a hurting spine and prayed her name, before a holy
Epiphany sparked in the martyr’s head. A shroud on him as she peeked from the west.
Wayward thoughts invaded their minds, before they both went astray.
I know it all,” the prey's revealed while picturing her face, a road is still ahead.
Dazing racking eyes predated his rest, to death he could’ve bled.
Oh Lord, I’ve raised from the dead,” poisoned his heart was by a kiss of hers.
Who will love me ‘till the end?” several days he craved to be heard.
Emptying his soul out, he prepared to attack and danced around her nest.
Relentless crimson hourglass counting down the time before her death.

Emiliano Iniguez Salgado was born and raised in Mexico until he turned 18, then he went to the US to pursue a better future. Loving writing since 12, he decided to take a career related to that, so he is majoring in Journalism with a minor in Creative Writing. But Filmmaking was his second favorite option
since he also loves video and audio editing because of some projects he had in the past (short films
and a music album). But now, he is still trying to figure out who he is, and becoming a writer is a
great possibility.
